A fire broke out in the office of the Law Department at Civil Secretariat here on Sunday, an official of the Fire and Emergency services said.
However, no one was injured in the incident but there was damage to some office equipment and furniture.
The fire broke out in the ground floor in the Civil Secretariat involving the office of the deputy secretary Law Department and accounts section around 3.45 am, the official said.
He said fire and emergency services immediately swung into action and managed to control it within over half-an-hour.
However, some computers with printers and scanners, office furniture, room heaters and some office record got damaged in the incident, the official said.
He said police are investigating the cause of the fire.
