A fire broke out in a high-rise commercial building on K G Marg in the heart of Delhi today, though no casualty has been reported in the incident.
The building, Ansal Bhawan, houses several offices and the fire broke out at the mezzanine level between its basement and the ground floor. The incident was reported at around 11.45 AM, a Dehi Fire official said.
It is being suspected that short-circuit in a neon signboard installed near an office led to the incident, he added.
Five fire tenders were rushed to the munti-storeyed building located near Connaught Place area. It took around 15 minutes for the fire fighters to douse the flames and a cooling operation was launched by noon, the official said, adding, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
The floor was already evacuated by the time fire officials reached the spot, he said.
