One worker was feared dead and two others were injured after fire broke out in an industrial unit at Boisar here, District Control Room officials said today.
The blaze began last night on the second floor of the Nutraplus Company at MIDC, Tarapur followed by a huge explosion, which left two workers (Indrajeet Tiwari and Nandan Singh) from a neighbouring establishment (Vineeta Textiles) seriously injured with more than 50% burns.
The two were at the entrance of the industrial unit when the explosion took place, officials said.

Both have been admitted to the TIMA hospital at Boisar.
While the company's supervisor Ajay Bore, who entered the company premises after the blaze is feared dead as fire officials have not been able to locate him so far.
Search for Bore will continue today in day light and on further cooling of the plant premises, officials said.
The flames were brought under control after three hours when three fire engines from MIDC Tarapur, two from Vasai-Virar, one each from TAPS, Reliance Dahanu and Palghar were pressed into service.
The cause of the fire is still not known and further investigations are underway, they added.
