A fire break out in a two-storey house made of wood Kiezekie (North Block) Colony here this evening rendering several families homeless, fire brigade officials said.
The fire was spotted shortly after 6.15 PM and two fire tenders came to douse the fire. Later three more fire tenders reached the spot and brought the blaze under control.
Local people, meanwhile, used water to check spread of the fire to neighbouring houses, the officials said adding one house was slightly affected.
The cause of the fire and extent of damage is yet to be ascertained.
