Fire in Kupwara district, 12 structures gutted

A fire broke out in a residential locality in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir today, damaging 12 structures including eight houses, officials said.

There was no loss of life reported in the incident so far, they said.

The fire broke out in Kalamabad area of Kupwara district in one of the residential houses and quickly spread to other houses in the area, Fire and Emergency Services officials said.

They said eight residential houses and four other buildings (kothars) were damaged and fire tenders have been rushed to prevent further spread of the blaze.

"Further details are awaited," the officials said, adding there was no loss of life reported in the incident so far.
