Fire broke out in a plastics factory at Salkia in Howrah district in the early hours today.
A Fire brigade official said 19 fire tenders were pressed into service to put off the flames which were spotted by local people at around 1 am.
The factory produced coir, plastic sheet, mattress. and the inflammables were believed to have caused the fire to spread.
There was no casualty or injury, the official said.
