Fire in plywood factory

A plywood factory was destroyed

in a fire at Bantwal near here today, police said.

The fire which broke out at the 'Halima ply' at about 4 am was first spotted by the workers. Locals and fire tenders from Pandeshwar, Kadri and Bantwal along with tanker water suppliers assisted in dousing the fire. There were no casualties, police said.

The owner of the factory had taken a loan from a Bank to start the new factory a few months ago, sources said.

Police are investigating the case and probing into possibility of any foul play in the incident.
