Police today nabbed an alleged firearm supplier here and recovered 10 country-made pistols from his possession.

Acting on a tip-off that some arm suppliers were to strike a deal, a police team conducted a search in the Main Bazar and arrested one Pankaj Jaiswal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar said.

Ten new country-made pistols, 30 live cartridges, two mobile phones and a motorcycle were seized from the accused, Kumar said.

Jaiswal was arrested when he was on his way to sell the fire-arms, he said.

Jaiswal's accomplice, Bard-ul Ansari, however, managed to escape, Kumar said, adding that a hunt was on to nab him.
