Firing on MG road in Gurgaon; 1 killed

The assailants, travelling in a car, fired on the SUV in which suspected gangster identified as Rakesh was travelling

Unknown assailants opened fire on an SUV here in which a suspected gangster was travelling, causing it to topple over an autorickshaw and leaving its driver dead outside a mall on the busy MG road here this morning.

The driver of the SUV was critically injured, police said.

The assailants, travelling in a car, fired on the SUV in which suspected gangster identified as Rakesh was travelling.

The incident happened at 11 am when Rakesh was going to Mehrauli from IIFCO chowk when the assailants fired at his car indiscriminately, police said.

While Rakesh escaped unhurt, his driver was hit by a bullet following which he lost control over the car causing it to topple over an autorickshaw standing nearby. The driver of the auto was crushed to death on the spot, police said.
 
Rakesh, a history-sheeter, was recently released on bail, they said.
