Firm global cues lifts silver futures by 0.13%

Silver prices traded higher by 0.13 per cent to Rs 41,060 per kg in futures trade today as traders enlarged positions amid a firm trend in precious metals overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March month rose by Rs 52, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 41,060 per kg in business turnover of 486 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month May contracts was trading higher by Rs 22, or 0.05 per cent to Rs 41,625 per kg in 6 lots.

Market analysts said widening of positions by participants in tandem a firm global trend, mainly influenced silver prices at the futures trade.
 

Globally, silver rose 0.57 per cent to USD 16.79 an ounce in Singapore.
