FIRs against gram panchayat secretaries and former presidents

The chief executive officer of Hailakandi Zilla Parishad has filed FIRs against three gram panchayat (GP) secretaries and as many former presidents of three gram panchayats of the district for alleged misappropriation of fund, an official release said today.

In the FIRs filed at the Hailakandi police station, CEO, Zilla Parishad, N K S K Shantee Singha urged the police to initiate action against GP secretary Badaruddin Laskar and former GP president Ayarun Nessa Laskar of Sudarshanpur Bandukmara.

An FIR was also filed against GP secretary Badaruddin Laskar and former president Benowara Begom Mazumder of Bhatirkupa gaon panchayat for allegedly withdrawing funds in gross violation of government guidelines, it said.

 

Eearlier two days ago, the CEO had filed an FIR against GP secretary Manoj Kumar Chaturvedi and former president Anuradha Das of Monacherra gaon panchayat for allegedly siphoning off funds.

In a meeting convened by the Zilla Parishad with the secretaries of 62 gaon panchayats in Hailakandi district on February 26 last, strict directive was issued to them not to withdraw GP funds.
