Madhya Pradesh police's Special Task Force today said it had not named BJP's national vice-president and former Chief Minister Uma Bharti in any of the first information reports in the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam.

"We have not named her in any FIR," a top STF official told PTI here, when asked about news reports in this regard.

The scam relates to recruitment for various government jobs including contractual teachers.

Meanwhile, in a letter to the Director General of Police Nandan Dube today, Bharti pointed out that ten days ago she herself had held a press conference and demanded that MPPEB scam was a serious matter and should be handed over to a competent probe agency.

If the government wanted, it could transfer the case to CBI, she said. Her political career was spotless and she was surprised to read her name in the news reports which quoted "STF sources", she said. "I am ready to cooperate with the probe by recording my statement in the matter," she added.

She also sought appointment with the DGP tomorrow on the issue.
