The first executive meeting of Samajwadi Party's state unit, which was formed after a gap of seven months, will be held on February 5.

"Party state president Akhilesh Yadav has called first meeting of the executive on February 5," party spokesman said here today.

At the meeting, the party would formulate strategy to deal with "communal forces" and to win the 2017 election of UP, a party leader said.

The ruling party in Uttar Pradesh had announced the 73 member state executive earlier this month after keeping it in abeyance for more than seven months.

At the executive, Akhilesh was re-nominated state president of the SP. Naresh Uttam was appointed vice president and minister Arvind Singh Gope was made general secretary of the state unit.

The SP had also announced a 32-member SC-ST cell of the party and appointed Saidpur MLA Subhash Passi as it president.

The party unit had appointed 17 secretaries and 11 members.
