First unit of Adhunik Power inaugurated in Jharkhand

Munda today inaugurated the first unit of 4x270 MW coal fired thermal power plant of Adhunik Power & Natural Resources Ltd (APNRL) at Saraikela-Kharswan district.

APNRL, a part of the Kolkata-based Adhunik Group, had signed an MoU with the Jharkhand government for the project in 2005.

In the first phase, 540 MW (2X270 MW) has been planned out of which the first unit of 270 MW was commissioning today, Plant Head Naresh Goya said, adding that the second unit will start producing power by March, 2013.

3,250 crore, which has been funded by IDFC, SBI
