First Urdu woman journalist of MP Khalida Bilgrami passes away

Madhya Pradesh's first Urdu woman journalist Khalida Bilgrami passed away here due to old-age related problems, her family said.

She was 71.

Bilgrami passed away two days back.

State Public Relations Minister Rajendra Shukla today expressed profound grief over her demise.

In his condolence message, Shukla said Bilgrami was the first woman journalist of Urdu in the state and had worked with leading Urdu dailies in Bhopal for a long time.

Her invaluable contribution to Urdu journalism cannot be forgotten and she was also known as a kind-hearted, courteous and compassionate person, Shukla said in an official statement.

He has prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss, it added.
