Fishermen's outfits from all districts today decided to convene a meeting here on August 12 to decide on picketing Parliament towards the end of this month if the Centre did not take steps by then to secure the release of 94 fishermen and 63 boats, held by Sri Lankan government.

Presidents of two Fishermen's Associations S Emirit and P Sesuraja told PTI that minister of state Pon Radhakrishnan had assured them that the fishermen and their boats would be released within 10 days and that the Centre would take steps in this regard.

If the fishermen were not released by August 12 as assured, they would proceed to Delhi and picket in front of Parliament, they said.
