A city-based company making fitness equipment is organising a bodybuilding contest to select 'Strongest Mumbaikar' which is open to both male and female contestants.

The contest will be held at NSE Grounds at suburban Goregaon on October 14. Both males and females can participate in the competition," Jerai Fitness said in a statement here.

The event is aimed at supporting residents of Mumbai aspiring for career in bodybuilding, wrestling and athletics, among others, the statement said.

The winner will be chosen by a panel of eminent judges, which includes Yatinder Singh, the winner of Mr India 2016 and a world bodybuilding champion, it said.

"We would financially support the title winner and facilitate his/her participation in reputed bodybuilding championships across the world.

"The winner will also promote CSR projects initiated by Jerai Fitness in villages of Maharashtra related to training young boys and girls in bodybuilding techniques in association with local Gram Panchayats," said Rajesh Rai, Managing Director of the company.

"We would also donate exercise equipment to these Gram Panchayats in an endeavour to create gymnasiums for boys and girls in every village of Maharashtra over a period of time," he added.
