Police received a PCR call on Wednesday evening that robbery had been committed at a house in Anand Vihar area of East Delhi by three unknown persons.

The complainant Tushar Uppal stated that he along with his friend Khosla were present in his house when the crime was committed.

Uppal in his complaint stated that around 6.15 pm, one person posing as MCD official came to his house and said he had a complaint about unauthorised construction in the house.

The visitor along with Tusar Uppal went to the roof of house to get the unauthorised construction checked.

In the meantime, two other persons entered in the house and they overpowered the complainant and Khosla on gun point.

They tied both of them with tape and looted jewelry, cash and mobile and fled away from the spot.

"During investigation, police found gaps in the versions of Uppal and Khosla. Khosla was interrogated at length and he confessed that he staged the dacoity along with his friends," said deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Ajay Kumar.

He also confessed that after reading the news of the robbery of Rs 90 lakh in GTB enclave they planned to commit similar dacoity to earn easy money, added Kumar.

Uppal runs a business of gems and jewelry. On the fateful evening Uppal had invited Khosla to his home and the latter immediately planned the dacoity with his aides.
