An employee of a garment trader and four other persons have been arrested in connection with snatching of Rs 33 lakh from collection agents of the trader, in east Delhi's Shakarpur area three days ago, police said today.
Two collection agents of a Gandhi Nagar based garment trader, were carrying Rs 33 lakh on a scooty from Karolbagh, when two bike borne men snatched the moneybag from them at Vikas Marg, on October 14.
During investigation, Devender and Neeraj, who were carrying money, were interrogated and their statements were found suspicious. Devender was interrogated further and he broke down revealing the conspiracy to misappropriate his employer's money.

He revealed that a month ago he had hatched the conspiracy along with his associates Ilayash, Mohan, Harshit, Mohammd Sonu Malik and Shahid to stage snatching of the money that they would be carrying after collection.
Three police teams were formed that arrested Ilyash, Mohan, Harshi and Sonu. Rs 23,27,500 of the looted Rs 33 lakh was also recovered by the police. The absconding accused Shahid was carrying he remaining portion of the money, he said.
On the day of the incident, Devender updated Mohan who along with Harsheet kept following them.
Sonu and Shahid were also following them on a black Pulsar motorcycle. When Devender and Neeraj reached Vikas Marg, after crossing Yamuna bridge, Sonu and Shahid snatched the bag containing the cash.
