Special Branch officers of the Mizoram Police arrested five members of the Bru Democratic Front of Mizoram (BDFM), the police said today.
The Police said the group led by Thlamuana alias Petoram (36) and other four members including Flower alias Endo Msha (22) were arrested from Silchar in Assam's Cachar district on Saturday night and were remanded to judicial custody today.
All the arrested persons were from the Bru relief camps in North Tripura district, mainly the Naisingpara relief camp and were operating from there, the police said.

Thlamuana and Flower were involved in the abduction of Deep Mondal and two Mizo drivers on November 23 last, the police said adding Mondal, a resident of West Bengal was released after being in captivity in Bangladesh for 120 days.
The five arrested BDFM members, working under a commander of the NLFT, were booked under relevant sections of the IPC and the Arms Act, the police added.
