Five Bengali films selected in feature section of Indian

Five Bengali films have been selected in the feature section of Indian Panorama in the 49th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held from November 20 to 28 in Goa.

The films are 'Nagarkirtan' by Kaushik Ganguly, 'Uma' by Srijit Mukherji, 'Uronchondi' by Abhishek Saha, 'Sa' by Arijit Singh, 'Abyakto' by Arjun Dutta, according to a release by the festival organisers here.

"A great feat for team #Uronchondi. The film gets an official selection at @IFFIGoa..", Bengali film superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, who produced the film Uronchondi, posted on his official twitter handle.

Srijit Mukherjee expressed happpiness that 'Uma' got picked in the section. "I had great hopes on Uma. I am also equally happy for other Bengali films having made to the section this year," he said.

 

In the non-feature section of Indian Panorama, Bengali film 'Sampurak' by Prabal Chakraborty was selected among other works.

The feature film jury of 13 members was headed by acclaimed film director and screenwriter Rahul Rawail.

The feature film jury selected 22 feature films, which included five Bengali works.

The 2018 International Film Festival of India, Goa will begin on November 20 and end on November 28.
