Five children drown in a pond in Kaimur

Five minor girls drowned today when they had gone to take a bath in a pond at Baddha village within the jurisdiction of Nuaon police station in Bihar's Kaimur district.

Mohania Sub-Divisional Officer Shiv Kumar Raut said the incident occurred when five minor girls had gone to take a bath in the pond after washing their clothes, but they slipped into deep waters and met their watery grave.

The deceased have been identified as Rinky (10), Khushi (11), Puja (14), Jyoti (12) and Khusbhu (14).

All bodies have been fished out of the pond by local villagers, SDO said adding, the bodies have been sent to Bhabhua sadar hospital for post-mortem.
