Five people of two different families allegedly committed suicides in two separate incidents in Jagtial and Nalgonda districts in the state over the past 24 hours, police said on Wednesday.
In Jagtial district, the bodies of a 23-year old woman and her two daughtersaged three years and five months, were found floating in an agriculture well in Sarvapur village under Mallaial police limits on Wednesday, they said.
According to police, the woman had left her home at Sarvapur village along with her daughters on Tuesday and after she did not return by evening, the family members filed a complaint.
After a search was launched, the bodies of the woman and her two daughters were found floating in the well, a police official said adding the reasons for their death was not known.
In another incident reported from Miryalagudatown of Nalgonda district, a 40-year old woman and her 11-year old son died after they consumed cold drinks laced with pesticide late on Tuesday night at their house while her husband, who too drank the drink was hospitalised and his condition was serious, police said.
However, their younger son did not consume the drink, police added.
The trio resorted to the extreme step apparently due to some family disputes and financial problems, police said.
