Five police constables were today suspended after they were found guilty of dereliction of duty following escape of six undertrials from police custody.
The five cops were suspended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anis Ansari.
The incident took place on September 23 when six undertrials escaped from a court premises by throwing red chilli powder on policemen escorting them to the jail van after a hearing in Anoopshahr.

Nine undertrials were presented at the ACJM court of whom six had managed to escape. One of them was later apprehended, SSP Ansari said.
The rest are still at large, he said.
