Swinging into action after getting an anonymous phone call, police recovered the low intensity bombs from a cloth bag tied in the back side of a parked tempo in Gomtipur area of the city.

"The state police control room received a phone call about the bombs in the wee hours. On reaching there we found two pipe bombs and three other bombs which were of very low intensity," K C Rathod, Police Inspector, Gomtipur police station, said.

"In view of tomorrow's rath yatra, city police is on high alert following which a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot. Bombs found were of very low intensity," he added.

"As informer has specifically mentioned two persons whom he alleged to have put these bombs, we are sure that this is a work of personal enmity. There is no threat to tomorrow's rath yatra," said Siddharaj Singh Bhati, Joint Commissioner of Police.
