A court here today acquitted five people facing charges under the Gangster Act after the prosecution failed to provide evidence against them.
They were booked under the Act for allegedly poisoning and killing animals, and then selling their skin.
On August 14, 2009, SHO Badalpur Laxman Verma had registered an FIR against them for poisoning animals and selling their skins and booked them under the Gangster Act and Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.
They were acquitted by a district court of the charges under Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act earlier.
