Five persons have died after consuming illicit liquor in Aurai area of the district, a senior government official said today.
Three persons died yesterday while two died today, Additional District Magistrate Rama Shanker Yadav said.
The two persons who died today have been identified as Shipahi Lal Chauhan (65) and Chottu Chauhan. Their bodies have been sent for post-morten, Yadav said.
He said the victims had purchased illicit liquor from a shop yesterday.
The ADM said a team has been sent to the spot for inquiry.
District Magistrate Narendra Shanker Pandey said stern action would be taken against the guilty.
