Five electrocuted in Bharatpur

Five persons were electrocuted today and one suffered critical burn injuries when a pipe they were holding touched a live electricity wire, police said.

Bhura (30), his wife Pooja (25), Ramkumar (30), Satish (32) and a 16-year-old girl Rajni were killed on the spot when they were extracting pipes from a dry borewell which accidentally touched a live wire, SHO of Chiksana police station, Bihari Lal said.

16-year-old Uday Singh suffered serious burn injuries and has been admitted to hospital.

Bhura, a labourer, along with others, was extracting pipes from the borewell in his own house when the incident happened, he said.
