At least five bomb explosions hit Al-Gharbia Governorate in Egypt today including one near the General Assembly, a security source said.

Three bombs went off in the city of Mahallha el-Kobra in Gharbia Governorate and one of them exploded near the Police Club.

The forth explosion took place near the General Assembly of the Governorate, while the fifth took place in Kafr el-Zayat.

The bomb disposal team and security forces rushed to the places of the incidents for investigations.

No casualty has been reported so far, the source said.

Notably, the Sinai-based Militants group Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis has yesterday posted an online video, in which the group threatened to launch attacks targeting police and soldiers during the Adha Feast, which will begin on Saturday.

Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis (Supporters of Jerusalem) has orchestrated some of the worst militant attacks against police and army forces since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
