Five family members injured in acid attack

Five members of a family were injured in an alleged acid attack following a dispute over minor issue in Sikandara village here, police said today.

Nankahu Rajbhar, his wife Shanti and three others had yesterday gone to the house of one Hariram Rajbhar in pursuance of their dispute over one's cattle entering into the agricultural field of another, Chauri police station incharge Nihal Ahmed said.

As the tempers ran high, Hariram and his wife Pramila threw acid on the five and fled, he said adding that all the five were rushed to community health centre from where they were referred to district hospital.
 

The condition of Nankahu and his wife was stated to be serious, police said.

Both the accused have been arrested and police is further investigating the issue, they said.
