Five persons were arrested while they were trying to decamp with firearms from the premises of a court here, the police said today.
The arrest took place late last night near the civil court premises where a patrol team of Kotwali police spotted the five men who were in possession of a gun and a rifle, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Mangala said.
He said during interrogation the arrested persons, from whom a motorcycle was also seized, revealed that they had stolen the firearms from the court warehouse where they entered through its window.
They were sent to judicial custody, the SP said.
