Five persons, including two Greater Noida Authority officials, were injured in clash during demolition drive at Qayampur village here today.

A team of Greater Noida Authority went to the village to remove the encroachment on acquired land, police said.

The villager, however, claimed that they owned the land and opposed the demolition drive.

According to police, the farmers pelted stones on the Authority team. Officer K K Singh and one other employee were injured in the brick-batting, police said.

Following which, the police and PAC personnel resorted to cane charge on the villagers, in which three farmers were injured.

The Greater Noida Authority has lodged a complaint against the farmers, police said, adding one accused has been arrested.

The officials claimed that the Authority had notified the village for acquisition in 2003.

Farmers had unauthorisedly encroached the acquired land and majority of farmers had taken the compensation and even 6 per cent developed land was allotted to several farmers, the Authority officers claimed.
