Five killed as tempo rams into truck

Four women and a child were killed and eight persons injured when the tempo they were travelling in rammed into a stationery truck near Mahuban village today, police said.

"While two women and a child died on the spot, two more women succumbed to their injuries in hospital," Deputy S P Ajai Pal Sharma said.

The accident took place when the victims were going to Mathura from Beri village (under Farah police station) for participating in 'Mathura Parikrama' on the occasion of 'Akshay Navami' today, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Urmila devi (38), Shyamvati (35), Kalavati (45), Urmila (32) and Rahul (12), all resident of Beri village.
