A truck rammed ito an SUV killing five persons, including a woman and a child, while two others were injured on Mohammadi-Shahjahanpur road here, police said today.
The incident occurred last night near Shankarpur crossing. The woman died on the spot while the child succumbed to his injuries at a hospital, they said.
The truck driver fled from the spot after the accident leaving the vehicle behind.
The deceased were identified as Dinesh (30), Vipin (22), Vipin's mother Vijay Kumari (45) and Monu (40), all residents of Nagara village in Mohammadi, while identity of others including the two injured could not be ascertained.
