Five persons, including a woman and her four-year-old son, were killed and 10 others injured in two road accidents in Malkangiri district, the police said today.
Three youths were killed when the motor-cycle carrying them to Malkangiri town from Padmagiri hit a culvert at a place about 7 km from here late last night.
The deceased, who hailed from Padmagiri and nearby areas, were coming to witness the ongoing 'Badayatra' festival here when the accident occurred, the police said.
In another mishap, a woman and her four-year-old son were killed and 10 others injured when the tractor trolley in which they were travelling overturned on the outskirt of the town last night.
The injured persons have been admitted to the district headquarter hospital here.
