Five persons were killed and three others seriously injured when the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling rammed into a truck here, police said today.
The mishap occurred last night when the auto in a bid to overtake another vehicle crashed into a truck coming from opposite direction on Qila bridge, they said.
The victims were identified as Anand Kashyap (35), DJ, Jogendra (32), Vishal (30) and Devendra (31), police said.
Akhilesh, Kishore and Gyan Prahakar were seriously injured in the accident and have been admitted to the district hospital.
