Five persons including two women were killed when a truck rammed into a car at Vallabhipur taluka of Bhavnagar district today, police said.
The accident took place this morning on Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad highway when the victims were on their way back to Botad town from Bhavnagar, said R N Zinzuvadia, Sub Inspector Vallabhipur .
The unidentified truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the, he added.
The deceased were identified as Ashraf Mankad (40), Rahil Dhandhukia (25), Hussain Padharshi (23), Subhanben Muriya(35) and Farida Dhandhukia (36).
A case has been registered against the truck driver and further investigation is on, Zibnzuvadia said.
