Five killed in MP road accident

Five persons were killed and six others injured when a jeep packed with passengers overturned near near, a police official said today.

The mishap took place last night near Devdongra village, about 30km from here. The victims were returning to their village Bakha after taking part in a religious festival.

The driver lost control over the jeep while trying to avoid collision with a motorcyclist and the vehicle tipped over, Patera Police Station In-charge, SK Seth said.

Four people died on the spot and another one succumbed to his injuries today. They deceased were identified as Rajendra Rai (25), Omkar Singh (22), Angad Thakur (25), Bhura Chakravarty (30) and Munna Thakur (45), the official said.
 

The injured were admitted in the Damoh district hospital for treatment, he said.
