Five killed in road mishap

Nearly thirty persons, mainly members of the trade unions and chamber of commerce in Rajpipla town near Vadodara, were going to Kutch in the private bus to visit the Rann-Utsav, police said.

The driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid hitting an animal, police said, adding that the speeding bus overturned killing five persons on the spot, while nineteen others were injured in the incident.

The injured were rushed to Morbi civil hospital.

The deceased were identified as Vikram Parikh, Ashok Doshi, Ahmad Pancholi, Biharilal Shah and Krishnaben Rawal, police said.

A complaint has been registered and further probe is on, they added.
