Five killed in separate road mishaps in UP

Five persons died in separate cases of road accidents here in the past 24 hours, police said today.

Two cousins, Rajesh and Satish, died after their bike was hit by a tanker near Bilauthi village on the Delhi-Agra national highway here. They were going to attend a family function in Amra Nagla village, police said.

Station in-charge Girish Chandra Tiwari said they were wearing earphones while driving because of which they might not have been able to hear the approaching vehicle.

In a separate incident, Pawan Kumar (25) was hit by a truck when he was waiting for a bus. He died during treatment.
 

Roop Singh (50) died after his bike was hit by a tractor on the highway here.

In another incident, Raghuveer Singh (52) was checking his combine harvester which was parked on the side of the road near milestone number 62 when a truck hit him. He died on the spot.
