Five persons were killed and one other was injured in two separate accidents in the district, police said today.
Four persons, including two girls, were killed when the SUV they were travelling in collided head-on with a mini truck on Sitapur-Shahjahanpur National Highway late last night near Uchaulia locality in JB Ganj area, they said.
Those killed were identified as Akshay (32), Amit (28), Sonal (23) and Shivangi (22).
The police have arrested the truck driver and seized the vehicle.
In another mishap near Oel in Kheri area this morning, one persons was killed when the driver of the car, they were travelling in, lost control over it and the vehicle rammed into a road side tree.
Rais (30) was killed and Shanu received injuries in the accident, police said.
