Five killed, seven injured in lightning

Murshidabad superintendent of police Humayun Kabir said that all of them were watching an under-13 local football match in the village when the lightning struck.

The victims were aged between 12 and 17 years, he said.

Chief Medical Officer, Health Ajoy Kumar Chakraborty said that while four of them had died on the spot, one succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Among the injured, the condition of the two was stated to be critical, he added.
