Five Kumbh pilgrims killed in road accident

Five pilgrims including three women were killed and a minor boy was seriously injured today when the car they were travelling in hit a culvert and overturned on Ujjain-Badnagar road near here, police said.

The victims were relatives of local Congress leader in Ratlam, Aditi Davesar, and were returning from the Simhastha Kumbh mela which is underway here, Badnagar Police Station Inspector Gopal Parmar told PTI.

Three of the victims --Prabha Dave (60), Asha Sharma (60) and Ajay Mishra (15)-- died on the spot while Usha Dogra (65) and driver Fareed succumbed to injuries on their way to the hospital, he said.
 

One of the injured identified as Rudraksh Dave (15), is in a critical state and has been rushed to a hospital in neighbouring Indore district.
