Five Sri Lankan fishermen, detained in Odisha, were today repatriated by Indian Coast Guard along with their boats.
The fishermen were taken onboard Coast Guard ship ICGS Rani Abbakka and handed over to Sri Lankan naval personnel at the International Maritime Boundary Line this evening, an official release said.
The fishermen were lodged at a prison in Paradip Port of Odisha, it said but did not provide any further detail as to how they landed there.
Indian Coast Guard has repatriated 377 Sri Lankan fishermen and 57 boats since January this year, it added.
