Five Maoists surrender in Odisha

Five cadres of a militia group of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) here today surrendered saying they were disappointed with the ideology of the outlawed organisation, police said.

"Five Maoist militia have surrendered here at the district police headquarters," Superintendent of Police, Malkangiri, Mitrabhanu Mohapatra said.

The surrendered ultras were working for the Kalimela Dalam of CPI (Maoist), the SP said.

They turned themselves in after realising that Maoists were drifting away from their ideology, he said.
