Kartik Shit (35), Sankar Ghosh (32), Narayan Dolui (40), Asit Dey (28) and Niranjan Roy (42) died at a local hospital today after being injured in an accident last evening.
The accident took place when the vehicle of the milk traders collided with a trailer on NH-6 at Sadatpur village.
Four other injured people are admitted in Kharagpur state general hospital and Midnapur Medical College and Hospital.
The milk traders were going to deliver milk and milk products to confectioneries in Kharagpur.
