Five model residential-colleges will come up in Chhattisgarh under the Rashtriya Uchhatray Shiksha Abhiyaan (RUSA), officials said today.
A sum of Rs 60 crore has been sanctioned by the Centre to set up these colleges where residential facilities will be provided for students and teachers within the campus, Secretary, Higher Education department B L Agrawal said.
Employment oriented syllabus will be designed for these colleges. Besides, Centre has also allocated a fund of Rs 20 crore each to develop infrastructure at Bastar University and Surguja University in the state, Agrawal said.

Similarly, Rs 54 crore has been allotted to develop infrastructure of leading colleges in every districts, he said.
Briefing about the new plans, he said a new Durg University will be set up in the state soon, while efforts are on to make available wi-fi facility in all state-run universities and colleges.
