Four of those arrested today belonged to the home at Khajurdaho, the police said.

The main suspect, Shyamal Ghosh, a resident of Uttarpara near Khajurdaho, in the death of the 32-Year-old deaf and dumb woman Guria, is still absconding.

The police said two elder brothers of Shyamal Ghosh were interrogated by the police at the police station to find out the absconder's whereabouts.

Hooghly district magistrate S Rangarajan said that the administration was mulling relocating the inmates of the Rehabilitation Centre for Mentally Ill Persons (Women) to one of two homes at Uttarpara in Hooghly district.

This morning, all the home inmates underwent a health check-up, the DM said.

The authorities of the home claimed that Guria had been killed when a ceiling fan had fallen on her head and buried after duly obtaining a death certificate. The body was exhumed after villagers alleged foul play.
