Five panchaloha idols recovered

: Five 'panchaloha' (five metals) idols, stolen from a temple at Kuruvithurai in this district and totally estimated to be worth around Rs five crore, have been recovered, police said.

The idols were recovered from a room at a roadside farm at Vilampatti in Dindigul district, IG (Idol wing) Pon Manickavel and IG (South Zone)S hanmuga Rajeswaran told reporters after visiting the spot

The idols were reported missing on October 13 and 10 special teams have been formed to nab the gang. they said.

The police officials said the gang had left the idols at the farm as they knew police were closing in on them.

 

Each idol was estimated to be worth around Rs one crore, they said.
