Five persons were killed in separate accidents in Malda district, the police said today.
A couple was killed when their bike was hit by a bike at Chenchu More within Malda police station limits last night.
They had gone to a hospital at Moulpur for emergency treatment wnd were returning home when the accident took place.
A cousin of theirs who was accompanying them was injured and undergoing treatment at Malda Medical College and Hospital.
In another mishap, three youths were killed on the spot last midnight when their bike collided with a lorry coming from the opposite direction at Chandipur.
They were going to Azamnagar from Gajol.
